The Absurdities of Life

This was a documentary film made by a film student about a pretty remarkable guy. Frank, the rescue guy, was pushed out of a life in finance, and took up being a volunteer lifeboat/rescue guy on Hayling Island in England. He sold his house years ago and pretty just lives on his boat---and has logged 200 rescues in a year. He's also struggling financially---it's an independent lifesaving and rescue station (to an American, this is an alien concept; there's either the Coast Guard or for-profit tow services)---And even the larger English life saving stations are volunteer and supported by charities (RNLI). But of course, he isn't.
Nice and affecting film.

The English yachting site mentions a way to donate to him, for any GB users of the Sift...Again, to an American, also perversely anti-commercial---no website, no PayPal link, no Indigogo or Go Fund Me...

"He is now in financial difficulties maintaining and running his boat. If you would like to contribute to Hayling Rescue repair costs please leave a cheque with Hayling Island Sailing Club office, or pay a BACS donation directly into The Friends of Hayling Rescue bank account No 03342387 Sort code 20-69-34 with your surname as reference. All contributions gratefully accepted."
